Dixon Technologies increases smartphone production for exports

Automotive Industries  -  May 21,2025  -

Dixon Technologies is undertaking a substantial expansion of its smartphone manufacturing capacity, increasing it by a significant 50 percent.

This strategic move is a direct response to the growing volume of export orders received from major international clients, including prominent players like Motorola, Google Pixel, and Transsion Group.

“We are expanding capacity by 50% from our current levels so that our anchor customers can meet their increased order book. A large part of it will be due to exports to North America in light of the evolving geopolitical scenario,” Atul Lall, managing director of Dixon Technologies, said during the Q4 conference call on May 20.

"Our largest customer, Motorola, has really done well, and now we have a large export opportunity with them. For Compal, the volumes are expected to increase for large US brands with potential export opportunities,” Atul added.

The increased production output is primarily intended to serve the demands of the North American and African markets, reflecting the current heightened global demand for smartphones and the strategic imperative for major brands to diversify and strengthen their supply chain resilience.
