Infrastructure  -  Jul 29,2025  -

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth approximately Rs 650 crore in the Madhubani district. This significant investment is part of a broader plan to enhance infrastructure and promote tourism in the region.

The CM's engagements included a high-profile roadshow in Laukahi, Madhubani, where various infrastructure and tourism-related projects were launched

A key project among these is an approach road, including a road overbridge (ROB), near the railway-level crossing between Khajauli and Jaynagar railway stations, with an estimated cost of Rs 178 crore. Additionally, a project worth Rs 31 crore for the development of tourism infrastructure at Phulhar Sthan in Harlakhi was also initiated.

Earlier, the Chief Minister also inspected the proposed redevelopment site of the revered Shri Janki Janmabhoomi Mandir area at Punaura Dham in Sitamarhi district, believed to be the birthplace of Goddess Sita.

While the Madhubani projects were specifically highlighted at Rs 650 crore, the larger plan for Punaura Dham is pegged at Rs 882 crore, aiming for comprehensive development on the lines of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra in Ayodhya.
