CM Chandrababu Naidu lays foundation for Dammu BioFuels distillery plant in Tirupati

Petroleum  -  Nov 13,2025  -

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for Dammu BioFuels’ Rs. 245-crore distillery plant in Tirupati, marking a major investment in the state’s bio-fuel production ecosystem. The facility will produce ethanol and other bio-derivatives that support India’s ethanol-blending programme and reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels.

The new plant is expected to generate significant rural employment and boost the local agrarian economy by procuring feedstock such as maize and sugarcane by-products from regional farmers. The project aligns with Andhra Pradesh’s broader industrial development strategy, which emphasises clean-energy industries, agro-processing, and high-value manufacturing.

Dammu BioFuels aims to adopt modern distillation technologies to ensure high output efficiency and reduced water consumption. The company also plans to integrate wastewater recycling and carbon-reduction systems to meet sustainability norms. Officials noted that the facility will be among the region’s most technologically advanced bio-fuel units once completed.
