Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has received clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change to draft the Terms of Reference (ToR) for its proposed Rs 1.03 lakh crore refinery-petrochemical complex in Andhra Pradesh. 

The project, located in Chevuru Village, is a major step towards enhancing India's refining capacity and reducing import dependency.

The proposed plant will have a capacity of 9 million metric tons per annum (MMTPA). 

The project is expected to be completed in 42 months and will create a significant number of jobs—3,400 during construction and 3,750 during the operational phase—boosting the local and regional economy.
