Bids invited for Geotechnical work at ammonia-urea fertilizer plant in Namrup, Assam

Chemicals  -  Oct 29,2025  -

Projects & Development India Ltd (PDIL) has invited bids to conduct geotechnical investigation work for the proposed ammonia-urea fertilizer plant at Namrup in Assam.

The upcoming facility is being developed by Assam Valley Fertilizer and Chemical Company Ltd (AVFCCL) as a brownfield expansion within the existing premises of Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Ltd (BVFCL).

The new plant is expected to have an annual urea production capacity of around 12.7 lakh tonnes, significantly enhancing fertilizer supply in the northeastern region.

The scope of work for the selected contractor will include soil testing, site analysis, and preparation of geotechnical data required for structural design and construction of the fertilizer complex.

According to the tender notice, the bid submission deadline has been set for 18 November 2025, with PDIL overseeing the evaluation and execution process.

Once operational, the ammonia-urea plant is expected to strengthen India’s fertilizer self-sufficiency, reduce import dependence, and boost the agricultural productivity of the eastern and northeastern states.
