Infrastructure  -  May 15,2025  -

BEML is all set to invest Rs 1,800 crore in establishing a state-of-the-art metro rail coach and rolling stock manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh.

The announcement came during Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s visit to Bengaluru, where he formally handed over an allotment letter for 60.063 hectares (approximately 148 acres) of land to the company, according to a ZEE Business report.

“They will make even Vande Bharat coaches in Madhya Pradesh now as they make them in Bengaluru with an investment of Rs 1,800 crore,” CM Yadav stated after presenting the land documents.

The facility will be located in Umaria village, Goharganj tehsil, Raisen district.

The state cabinet has approved the land allocation to support the development of metro and high-speed rail manufacturing in the region.

This marks a significant expansion for BEML, which is headquartered in Bengaluru and is Asia’s second-largest manufacturer of earth-moving equipment.
