BEML expands operations with New 148-acre facility in Madhya Pradesh

Infrastructure  -  May 14,2025  -

BEML has received formal approval from the Madhya Pradesh government for the allotment of around 148 acres of land in the Umeria area of Raisen district.

The proposed plant will focus exclusively on constructing coaches and rolling stock components essential for various metro and railway infrastructure projects across Madhya Pradesh.
The public sector enterprise plans to establish a new manufacturing facility on the site, aimed at bolstering the state’s production capacity for railway and metro rolling stock.

The BEML facility will support ongoing and future transit developments, especially as metro rail networks expand in cities like Bhopal and Indore. The new unit is also expected to bring ancillary benefits such as skill development and employment creation in the region.

This strategic location in Raisen is expected to reduce logistical costs and improve production timelines for state and central rail projects. BEML, which already has multiple facilities across India, including in Bengaluru, Kolar Gold Fields, and Mysuru, is looking to tap into Madhya Pradesh’s Central location and urban transit segment.
