AVPL International elevates India's Defence Capabilities with $1 Million R&D commitment for drones

Manufacturing  -  Jul 04,2025  -

AVPL International, a prominent Indian firm specializing in drone manufacturing and training, has announced a significant investment of USD 1 million (approximately Rs 8.5 crore) towards accelerating its research and development (R&D) efforts in defence drones.

This strategic commitment aims to bolster India's indigenous unmanned aerial systems (UAS) capabilities, catering to the critical needs of the nation's defence, homeland security, and dual-purpose applications.

This latest investment follows a broader commitment of USD 12 million made by AVPL International in April 2025, dedicated to expanding its drone training and manufacturing infrastructure across India.

The company's focused R&D push is designed to address key gaps in India's burgeoning drone ecosystem and foster greater self-reliance in this strategically vital sector.

Preet Sandhuu, founder and MD of AVPL International, emphasized that this investment reflects the company's "commitment and contribution to the growth of a robust drone supply chain under the Make in India initiative."
