The Assam Chief Minister has inaugurated a major railway overbridge at Jamunamukh, constructed at a cost of roughly Rs. 235 crore. 

The structure replaces a busy level crossing that caused frequent traffic delays and safety hazards. 

The new overbridge will streamline vehicular movement and significantly improve regional connectivity for commuters and transporters.

Beyond easing congestion, the project is part of Assam’s broader push to modernise district-level infrastructure and enhance road-rail integration.

The overbridge will support smoother movement of agricultural goods, local industries and passenger traffic across the Hojai region. 

It also adds to the state’s ongoing efforts to eliminate level crossings through grade-separated structures.
