The Andhra Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (APMRCL) has issued e-tenders for the first phase of the Vijayawada Metro project, which has an estimated civil contract value of Rs 4,150 crore. 

The project aims to revolutionize urban travel in the city with a 38.4 km network.

The contract, based on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model, covers the design and construction of the viaduct, a unique 4.33 km double-decker four-lane flyover, one underground station, and 32 elevated stations across two corridors. 

The project is a joint venture between the Central and State governments and will be overseen by TYPSA Consultancy.
