Adani Power Ltd. has been awarded a Letter of Award (LoA) from MP Power Management Company Ltd (MPPMCL) to supply a total of 1,600 MW of power. 

This includes an initial 800 MW order and an additional 800 MW capacity exercised under a 'Greenshoe Option.'

The power will be supplied from a new 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant that will be built in the Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh.

The project, estimated to cost Rs 21,000 crore, will be developed under a Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) model. 

Both units of the plant are expected to be commissioned within 60 months. The awarded tariff for the additional capacity is the same as the initial 800 MW order, at Rs 5.838 per kWh. 

This is the fifth major power supply order for Adani Power in the past year, bringing its total awarded capacity to 7,200 MW.
