Adani launches country’s first Off-Grid 5 MW green hydrogen pilot plant in Gujarat

Power Generation  -  Jul 02,2025  -

Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), a subsidiary of the Adani Group, has inaugurated India's pioneering off-grid 5 MW green hydrogen pilot plant in Kutch, Gujarat.

This facility represents a critical advancement in achieving energy independence through clean sources and validates the viability of localized hydrogen production powered by renewable energy.

The plant is fully sustained by solar energy and incorporates a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), enabling autonomous operation independent of the electrical grid.

The plant operates exclusively on solar power, without connection to the primary electrical grid.

The plant employs a closed-loop electrolyzer system that dynamically adapts to real-time solar input, thereby optimizing flexibility and efficiency in hydrogen production.

The plant leverages solar-powered electrolysis to generate hydrogen from water, establishing a sustainable production methodology.
