ACME Solar adds 19.8 MW capacity to its maiden wind power project in Gujarat

Power Generation  -  Jun 16,2025  -

ACME Solar Holdings is quickly progressing with its first wind energy project in Shapar, Gujarat. After starting an initial 26.4 MW in May 2025, the company has now added another 19.8 MW, bringing the total operating capacity to 46.2 MW out of the planned 50 MW.

The full project is expected to be running within the next few days. With this achievement, ACME Solar’s total operating renewable energy capacity is now 2,826.2 MW. The project is located in one of India’s best areas for wind resources and is being developed under ACME Pokhran, a special company created for this purpose. It is funded by Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and operates under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL).

Built using ACME’s own engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) skills, the project benefits from better profit margins and timely completion. The electricity generated is collected at a 33/220 kV pooling station and sent out through a dedicated single-circuit 220 kV line to the Shapar sub-station. This infrastructure will also be used for ACME’s next wind project in the same area, which is currently in the late stages of construction.
