Visteon Corporation has launched production of high-resolution camera systems and display backlight units at its facility in Chennai, India. 

Visteon President and CEO Sachin Lawande said that India is a key market in the company’s vertical integration efforts. By localizing the manufacturing of critical components like cameras and backlight units, Visteon aims to improve its operational agility and better serve global automotive manufacturers.

The move is supported by an initial investment of $10 million. The newly added production lines are designed to build both analog and digital cameras with resolutions ranging from 1.3 to 8 megapixels. 

These systems are engineered to integrate with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), enhancing vehicle safety features such as parking assistance, maneuvering support, and navigation. The cameras are also compatible with modern high-definition in-vehicle displays.
