Infrastructure  -  Aug 29,2025  -

Vishnusurya Projects and Infra Limited has announced the successful bid for a major Rs 2,217 crore contract to build a seawater desalination plant in Tuticorin. The project, awarded by the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (Sipcot), is a crucial step toward addressing water scarcity in the region.

The project is a consortium effort, with Vishnusurya partnering with JWIL Infra Ltd. and IDE Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. The plant will have a capacity of 60 million liters per day (MLD).

Structured under a Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), the project's timeline includes a 30-month construction phase, followed by a 15-year period for operation and maintenance. This long-term contract ensures sustainable water supply and a consistent revenue stream for the companies involved.

The project's location in Mullakadu is strategically chosen to serve industrial and residential needs in the Tuticorin area, which is a major industrial hub.
