Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) has released tenders for four 150 MW vertical Francis reversible pumpturbines, forming the 600 MW Upper Indravati Pumped Storage Project in Kalahandi district. 

The scope includes manufacturing, erection, testing, and commissioning of the turbinegenerator assemblies. 

Complementing earlier approvals from the Central Electricity Authority and detailed project reports, this project is designed to provide peakload balancing and grid resilience, with longterm benefits for the state’s energy security.

he scope also includes the installation of all necessary systems for seamless integration and reliable operation of the pumped storage facility. The facility aims to provide peak-load support, grid stability, and renewable energy integration, aligning with Odisha’s energy security and sustainability goals.

The tender closing date is 19 September, 2025.
