The Numaligarh Refinery (NRL) has taken a major step forward in its expansion project by floating a tender for a reactor system for its new polypropylene (PP) unit. 

This component is a core part of the refinery's plan to diversify its product portfolio beyond fuels and into the lucrative petrochemicals market.

The new unit, which will have a capacity of 4,20,000 tonnes per annum (TPA), is a key element of NRL’s Rs 28,000 crore expansion project. 

The tender indicates that the project is on schedule and moving towards the construction phase.
