Engineers India (EIL) has floated tender to conduct a Marine Impact Assessment (MIA) Study and Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Study for the proposed greenfield refinery at Ramayapatnam in Ongole district, Andhra Pradesh.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) plans to establish a grassroots refinery-cum-petrochemical complex with a capacity of nine to 12 million tonne per annum (MTPA), aimed at producing transportation fuels and petrochemical products.

As part of the statutory requirements for project clearance, both the MIA and CRZ studies are essential.

BPCL has engaged EIL to finalise the configuration study and prepare a detailed feasibility report (DFR), including the cost estimate. EIL will also be responsible for generating the necessary data to facilitate the project's environmental clearance.

The study is to be completed within seven months from the date of the letter of award. The deadline for bid submission is 30 May, 2025.
