Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata floats tender for Integrated Outer Container Terminal Development

The Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (SMPK), Kolkata, formerly known as Kolkata Port Trust, has initiated the bidding process for the integrated development of its Outer Container Terminal and Berth No. 1 through 5 at Netaji Subhas Dock (NSD) within the Kolkata Dock System (KDS). 

This ambitious project, valued at Rs 832.25 crore, is a significant step towards enhancing the port's capacity and operational efficiency.
The project will be executed under a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) basis through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with the aim of attracting private sector expertise and investment. 

The selected private developer will be responsible for designing, building, equipping, and subsequently operating and maintaining the berths.

The comprehensive scope of work involves the integrated development of the Outer Container Terminal (OT-1 and OT-2 berths) and Berths No. 1 through 5 at Netaji Subhas Dock. 

This includes the design, construction, and equipping of these berths for container handling operations, along with their ongoing operation and maintenance.
