Solex Energy to invest US$1.5 billion in solar manufacturing expansion

Power Generation  -  Oct 29,2025  -

Solex Energy Private Limited has announced a massive investment of US$1.5 billion (approximately Rs 12,000 crore) to expand its solar module manufacturing capacity as part of its push to tap into the U.S. market.

The expansion will significantly enhance India’s position in the global solar value chain and reduce dependency on imports.

The company’s plans indicate large-scale investments not only in solar module assembly but potentially in upstream components such as solar cells and wafers.

Solex Energy’s strategy is aligned with the growing global demand for clean energy solutions and the increasing emphasis on supply chain diversification in solar manufacturing.

The investment will create thousands of jobs and contribute to India’s renewable energy targets while promoting export-led growth. Once implemented, the expansion is expected to make Solex one of India’s leading solar equipment exporters.
