Shweta Solar has announced a significant expansion plan to strengthen India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem, including the development of a 1.2 GW solar module plant in the National Capital Region and investments in advanced cell and module technologies. 

The company says it will prioritise R&D, technology integration and supply-chain localisation to help India move beyond module assembly toward deeper value-chain presence (cells, wafers, ingots). 

Executives argue that policy momentum and domestic demand present a timely window to scale high-efficiency module production, reduce import dependence and support national renewabletargets. 

The expansion is expected to catalyse local supplier growth and create jobs across manufacturing and logistics.
