The Shahpur-Kandi power project, a national project that was revived after being stalled for four decades, is set to be completed by September 15.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh confirmed that the final phase is on track, and water from the River Ravi will soon be diverted to generate electricity. 

This project is a crucial part of the Indus Water Treaty, as it aims to minimize the excess water of the River Ravi that flows downstream to Pakistan. 

The diverted water will be used for power generation and to irrigate tens of thousands of hectares of land in Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab.
