The Centre has approved tunnel projects worth Rs. 9,779 crore to improve connectivity across four districts in Jammu & Kashmir. The projects are aimed at ensuring all-weather connectivity in challenging terrains.

Tunnel infrastructure is critical for enhancing mobility in mountainous regions.

The projects will reduce travel time and improve access to remote areas. They are also expected to boost tourism and economic activity.
