RITES has been awarded a contract by Mahanadi Coalfields (MCL) for providing detailed engineering and project management consultancy (PMC) services.

The contract pertains to the critical rail connectivity element for the proposed Phase-II SILO at the Lakhanpur Area of MCL.

The scope of work includes comprehensive engineering solutions and end-to-end project management, facilitating efficient rail-based coal evacuation from the Lakhanpur site, which is essential for improving turnaround time and reducing environmental impact.

MCL, a subsidiary of Coal India, awarded the contract to RITES as part of its infrastructure upgrade initiatives aimed at streamlining coal transportation. It is scheduled to be executed over a 24-month timeframe.

The engagement reflects the strategic collaboration between the two public sector enterprises in achieving cost-effective and timely infrastructure development.
