Reliance Industries to set up Rs 1,622 crore Beverages Unit in Andhra Pradesh

Manufacturing  -  Jun 13,2025  -

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) is planning to expand in Andhra Pradesh by proposing a large beverage manufacturing plant in Kurnool district.

This project will involve a total investment of Rs1,622 crore. The company has given a detailed project report (DPR) to the state government, asking for approval.

According to the DPR, the proposed plant, under Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL) (a part of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited), will make packaged fizzy drinks and bottled drinking water.

Reliance plans to build the project in two stages – the first stage costing Rs 1,006 crore and the second stage Rs 616 crore. The company believes the project will create around 5,200 direct and indirect jobs across both stages.
The plant is planned to be built on 100 acres of land. This land will hold the bottling lines, storage areas, water treatment facilities, and office buildings. Kurnool district has been chosen as a good location, and the company has asked for land to be given to them in a specific industrial area.

The DPR states that both stages will be finished within six years. Once it's running, the facility could generate Rs 2,000 crore in business each year, and contribute about ₹500 crore per year to the state's finances through GST revenues.
