Patel Engineering has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Arunachal Pradesh government to develop the 144 MW Gongri hydropower project. 

The project falls under the state’s new hydropower revival policy aimed at unlocking its vast renewable energy potential. 

Hydropower development in Arunachal Pradesh is critical for meeting regional power demand and supporting India’s clean energy goals. 

The project is expected to bring infrastructure development to remote areas. It will also contribute to long-term energy security in the northeastern region.
