Pace Digitek ignites green energy revolution with new battery storage plant in Karnataka

Power Generation  -  Jul 04,2025  -

Pace Digitek Limited has officially inaugurated its cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility in Bidadi Industrial Area, Karnataka.

This significant milestone comes as the company prepares for its Initial Public Offering (IPO), signaling its strong strategic pivot towards the booming renewable energy sector.

The new plant, operated through Pace Digitek's subsidiary Lineage Power Private Limited, is designed to initially deliver 2.5 GWh of BESS annually, with the potential for brown-field expansion to 5 GWh. This makes it a crucial addition to India's burgeoning energy storage landscape, aimed at supporting the nation's ambitious renewable energy targets and achieving greater energy self-reliance ("Atmanirbhar Bharat").

The inauguration ceremony was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister for Consumer Affairs and Renewable Energy Systems, and K. J. George, Minister for Energy, Government of Karnataka. Their presence underscored the government's high priority on developing robust energy storage infrastructure to effectively utilize solar and wind power even during non-generation hours.
