The Odisha government has greenlit the Pipili–Konark Greenfield Corridor, a new 40-kilometer, four-lane highway project set to reduce travel time between Pipili and the famous Sun Temple in Konark from 90 minutes to just 30 minutes. 

The corridor, which will have a width of 200 feet, is designed for vehicle speeds up to 100 km/h, ensuring a smooth and efficient journey.

This transformative infrastructure project is a major boon for the state's tourism sector. 

The improved connectivity will make the UNESCO World Heritage site and other attractions more accessible to both domestic and international visitors. 

The plan also includes widening the existing road from 7 meters to 10 meters to complement the new corridor and ease congestion, particularly during peak tourist season.
