NTPC Green Energy invites developers for Green Hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka, AP

Power Generation  -  Sep 29,2025  -

NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) has issued an Expression of Interest (EoI) to both Indian and global green chemical developers to participate in India’s first green hydrogen hub in Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh.

Under the hub’s development plan, the facility will target production of 2.5 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) of green chemicals, including ammonia, methanol, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and green urea.

Planned infrastructure includes a 7 GW electrolyzer capacity, 7.5 GW of transmission lines, a captive port, desalination plant, chemical storage, logistics zones, and shared utilities.

Developers responding to the EoI will need to source renewable energy, water, or green hydrogen from NGEL, and may enter into sub-lease, supply, or joint venture agreements.

This hub has been declared India’s first National Green Hydrogen Hub by the Prime Minister, and the government’s plan anticipates a Rs 30,000 crore transmission network to support the project.
