Navi Mumbai International Airport set for inauguration in April

Infrastructure  -  Feb 27,2025  -

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is ready to be inaugurated in the second week of April, with domestic commercial operations commencing in May.

The launch follows a commercial validation test conducted earlier at the under-construction airport.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Airports Authority of India (AAI) recently completed a full-day inspection to assess the aerodrome’s readiness.

Officials also reviewed the preparedness for securing an aerodrome licence. A validation landing was conducted in December to evaluate newly installed flight instruments.
NMIA’s first operational phase will accommodate 20 million passengers annually, with eight to 10 million expected within the first six months of domestic operations. International flights are projected to begin by July next year.
