Cargo movement around Chennai’s ports is set for relief with Phase I of the Mappedu Multi-Modal Logistics Park nearing operational readiness.

The facility is designed to shift container handling and storage activities away from congested port areas.

With integrated warehousing and multimodal connectivity, the park will improve turnaround time and logistics efficiency.

The project forms part of India’s broader push to modernise freight infrastructure. Utilisation is expected to ramp up gradually after commissioning.
