Maldives-based Atmosphere Core enters India

Hospitality and Healthcare  -  Apr 29,2025  -

Hospitality firm Atmosphere Core has announced its entry into India and is all set to open an all-women managed hotel in Bhopal.

The company's co-founder and Managing Director Salil Panigrahi said,"This marks the beginning of its Indian operations."

Founded in 2014, Atmosphere Core currently accounts for none percent of the hotel inventory in the Maldives, operating nine properties under its brands, including Colours of Oblu, The Ozen Collection, and Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts.

The company now plans to replicate its experiential and leisure-focused model in India, targeting scenic, nature-rich locations rather than major cities.

In India, Atmosphere Core has already signed a couple of hotels and expects to open two to three properties over the next few years. Panigrahi projected that the company would operate 15 to 20 hotels and resorts in India within five years. The focus will be on leisure destinations such as Bengaluru, North and Northeast India, with projects also lined up in Kolkata and potential ventures in Goa.
