Maharashtra govt signs MoUs worth Rs 3.16 lakh crore in a day

The Maharashtra government has inked Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 3.16 lakh crore with multiple companies in the sector of green energy and for setting up a steel manufacturing plant that will create 83,900 jobs in the state, said Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The MoUs were signed at Sahyadri Guest House in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Fadnavis.

According to officials, the MoUs worth Rs 2,76,300 crore were signed with seven companies for green power generation that will create 63,900 jobs in the state.

While NTPC Green Energy Ltd signed an MoU with the state for Rs 80,000 crore, JSW Energy Ltd signed MoU worth Rs 15,000 crore, Avada Green Hydrogen Pvt Ltd and Bafna Solar & Infra Prof Ltd signed an MoU worth Rs 50,000 crore, Renew eFuel Pvt Ltd signed an MoU worth Rs 66,400 crore, Welspun Godavari GH2 Pvt Ltd signed MoU worth Rs 29,900 crore, Inox Air Products (total investment of Rs 25,000 Crore and L&T Green Energy Tech Ltd for Rs. 10,000 crore.

Another MoU was also signed for setting up of the steel manufacturing plants based on green energy in Maharashtra. “Another MoU worth Rs 40,000 crore was signed between ArcelorMittal Nippon India and Industries Department of Maharashtra Government, that would create 20,000 jobs in the state,” an official said.
