Lenskart, a leading eyewear manufacturer, will invest Rs 1,500 crore to set up a major production facility in Telangana.

Located at Tukkuguda’s Non-Special Economic Zone (SEZ) General Park, the facility is expected to be one of the largest eyewear production hubs globally. Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu laid the foundation stone for the project.

The new facility is projected to generate 1,600 employment opportunities.

Commercial production is set to begin in two years, with full-scale operations expected within four years. Lenskart had signed an agreement with the Telangana government in December 2024 for the project. A senior official from the Industries Ministry stated.

The company is planning to export eyewear products to countries like Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and the Gulf.
