Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation plans 1,000-bed hospital in Pune

Hospitality and Healthcare  -  Oct 08,2025  -

The Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation (LMMF), founded by the Mangeshkar family, is moving forward with plans to establish a 1,000-bed multi-specialty hospital in Pune.

The foundation, established in 1989, has long been active in health, education, and social welfare through collaboration with Jnana Prabodhini Medical Trust.

The group’s existing Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital began operations in 2001 on a six-acre land allotment by the Maharashtra government. It currently offers postgraduate medical training across about 25 specialties and runs fellowships in neonatology, cardiac anesthesia, and gynecologic endoscopy.

The proposed 1,000-bed expansion will significantly enhance Pune’s tertiary healthcare capacity and contribute to the city’s growing medical infrastructure ecosystem.
