The Kerala government has approved a regional rapid transit system project with an estimated investment of Rs. 1.92 lakh crore.

The RRTS network will connect major urban and suburban centres across the state.

The project aims to improve inter-city mobility and reduce road congestion. It will be developed as a high-capacity, high-speed transit corridor.

Implementation will be carried out in phases over the long term.
