JSW Energy to construct two wind blade plants in 2025

Power Generation  -  Apr 23,2025  -

JSW Energy is set to construct two new wind blade manufacturing plants in 2025.

The plants are aimed at meeting the company’s internal requirements, “to de-risk and optimise costs", reflecting a broader push toward localisation in renewable energy infrastructure.

Currently, while complete wind turbine systems, including generators and towers, are being manufactured in India with Indian steel, certain components still lack sufficient domestic capability, necessitating imports.

Wind blades, in particular, are among those still being sourced internationally despite domestic assembly operations.

The new plants are expected to address this gap, strengthen the supply chain, and boost India’s wind energy ecosystem.
