Jindal Stainless enters stainless-steel fabrication with Rs 125 crore unit in Mumbai

Metallurgical Industries  -  Oct 08,2025  -

India’s largest stainless steel producer, Jindal Stainless, has inaugurated its first stainless steel fabrication facility through its wholly owned subsidiary, Jindal Stainless Steelway (JSSL), in Washivali, Patalganga, Mumbai.

The 4-lakh sq ft plant has been developed with an initial investment of about Rs 125 crore.

The facility will produce structural components such as girders, arches, nuts, and bolts, serving infrastructure segments including bridges, construction, and heavy engineering. In its first phase, the plant aims to reach an annual fabrication capacity of around 18,000 tonnes by FY 2026–27.

This downstream expansion into value-added fabrication complements Jindal’s upstream steel operations and positions it to capture more value from India’s growing infrastructure demand.
