Jagatjit Industries Ltd has announced that its new grain-based ethanol plant in Punjab has started commercial production. The company expects this plant to generate an annual revenue of Rs 550 crore once it operates at full capacity.

Located in Hamira, Kapurthula district, Punjab, the plant has the capacity to produce 200 kilolitres of ethanol per day.

When fully operational, it could supply 65-70 million liters of ethanol per year to India's Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), supporting the country's efforts to blend ethanol with petrol.

Roshini Sanah Jaiswal, Promoter and Executive Director of Jagatjit Industries, stated that this plant will add a stable and high-quality revenue source, improving the company's financial health and supporting its future growth in alcoholic beverages and new markets.

This new venture marks a significant step in the company's diversification into sustainable energy.
