IOCL invites EoIs for partners to develop CBG plants across India

Petroleum  -  Oct 09,2025  -

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) has invited Expressions of Interest (EoIs) from potential implementation partners for setting up Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants across India.

The move aims to accelerate the nation’s transition toward cleaner fuels and reduce dependency on imported natural gas.

IOCL plans to collaborate with private and public stakeholders to establish decentralized biogas plants using agricultural residues, municipal waste, and other organic feedstocks.

The initiative aligns with the government’s Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) scheme, which promotes biofuels and circular energy solutions.

By expanding its CBG portfolio, IOCL seeks to create an ecosystem that supports farmers, reduces waste, and contributes to India’s net-zero emission goals.
