Ingersoll Rand scales India operations with Rs 170 crore Sanand facility

Manufacturing  -  Oct 15,2025  -

Ingersoll Rand (India), a subsidiary of U.S. industrial conglomerate Ingersoll Rand Inc., has inaugurated a Rs 170 crore manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat.

The new plant will produce a wide spectrum of equipment: centrifugal compressors, gas compressors, nitrogen generators, refrigeration dryers, and large reciprocating compressors.

Production is expected to begin in Q4 FY25, initially targeting 24,000 units annually, with the capacity to double by 2030.

Once fully scaled, the Sanand facility will boost Ingersoll Rand’s total India capacity by about 1.5×, supplementing its legacy Naroda plant (in operation since 1965), which has been under capacity pressure.

Ingersoll Rand India already plays a strong role in domestic markets—reporting revenue of Rs 1,336 crore in FY2024–25, up ~11% year-over-year, with profit before tax at Rs 360 crore.
