Hitachi Energy to invest Rs 300 crore in Mysuru expansion

Power Generation  -  Sep 02,2025  -

Hitachi Energy is set to invest Rs 300 crore in its Mysuru plant to double the production capacity of high-quality transformer insulation materials.

The investment is part of a larger ₹2,000 crore commitment for India. This expansion will enable the plant to produce extra-high voltage (EHV) class pressboard and laminated board, crucial components for transformers, and will also convert the facility into an ultra-low carbon pressboard plant by replacing its fossil fuel boiler.

The move will help meet rising demand both domestically and in key international markets, including the UAE, Oman, and South Africa.
