Hindustan Power commences work on 435 MWp solar project in UP

Power Generation  -  Jul 09,2025  -

Hindustan Power, a leading integrated power generation company, has officially begun work on its significant 435 megawatt peak (MWp) solar power project in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh.

This substantial initiative marks a crucial step forward in the state's ambitious target of achieving 22 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2026-27 and reinforces India's broader commitment to a sustainable energy future.

The commencement of the project was announced during the recent Clean Energy Summit 2025 in Lucknow, an event organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Northern Region, in partnership with the Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).

The summit underscored Uttar Pradesh's growing focus on renewable energy as a driver for economic growth and environmental sustainability.

Hindustan Power secured this project through a tariff-based competitive bidding process conducted by Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) in April 2025.
