Hilton has firmed up its commitment to the South Indian hospitality market by signing the development of Hilton Chennai Egmore, its second Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in the Chennai metro region. 

The new property, to be developed in collaboration with MKR Estate Developers (a unit of MGM Healthcare Group), is slated to open in January 2029. 

Positioned in Egmore, a central, culturally rich, and commercially strategic zone of Chennai—the hotel will form part of a mixed-use campus including office space, giving it built-in demand from corporate and event traffic.

The hotel will house 195 rooms and suites, with standard rooms averaging around 390 sq ft. Its design includes multiple dining options (an all-day restaurant, specialty venues, rooftop lounge, lobby bar), full wellness facilities (spa, gym, indoor and outdoor pools), family-friendly features (children’s play area, even a bowling alley), and nearly 17,000 sq ft of event space (two ballrooms, boardroom, meeting spaces). 

This speaks to Hilton’s view that modern travelers expect more than just accommodation—they want destination hospitality.
