Hi-Tech Pipes lays foundation for Rs. 100 crore green-field project in Andhra Pradesh

Metallurgical Industries  -  Nov 14,2025  -

HiTech Pipes Ltd has laid the foundation for a green-field manufacturing unit near Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of Rs. 100 crore and initial capacity planned at 1.5 lakh TPA, forming part of its broader ambition to reach 2 million TPA (MTPA) capacity.

The facility is designed to produce large-diameter steel pipes for industries such as oil & gas, water-transmission and infrastructure piping.

The location takes advantage of Andhra’s emerging logistics and infrastructure ecosystem along the Bengaluru-Anantapur corridor, and proximity to steel-raw-material supply and transport routes.

For Hi-Tech Pipes, the plant supports its growth phase and strengthens domestic capability amid global supply-chain disruptions and rising import costs for steel tubes.

Challenges will centre on raw-material sourcing, power-and-logistics set-up, demand-securing (both domestic and export) and labour-skills ramp-up.

If successful, this facility could anchor ancillary manufacturing clusters and contribute to the region’s industrialisation push.

The announcement is in line with India’s broader infrastructure pipeline (water, gas, energy) and policy impetus for domestic manufacturing of critical industrial components—boosting import-substitution and generating employment.
