Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway: New 568-km route approved

The Center has approved the 568 Km long, six-lane greenfield Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway. This massive project will cost an estimated  Rs 38,645 crore, with Bihar contributing around Rs 27,552 crore.

The Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway will pass through 313 villages in 39 blocks across eight districts: West Champaran, East Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, and Kishanganj. Approximately 417 Km of this expressway will be within Bihar, significantly enhancing connectivity.  

As part of the project, authorities will build several bridges over major rivers like the Gandak, Bagmati, and Kosi. 

These structures will strengthen transportation and reduce travel time. The Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway will reshape Bihar’s infrastructure, opening new doors for economic opportunities and regional development.
