Godrej Agrovet to invest Rs 960 crore in food processing and R&D

Godrej Agrovet has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) to invest Rs 960 crore for establishing manufacturing, processing, and research facilities.

The pact, announced during the World Food India 2025 event, is part of Godrej Agrovet’s strategy to bolster its agri-food processing and distribution capabilities. 

The investment will focus on Oil Palm and Pet Food verticals, with operations planned across Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Tripura, Telangana, and Maharashtra.

Sunil Kataria, CEO & MD of Godrej Agrovet, stated the MoU aligns with the company’s long-term vision of strengthening value chains, enhancing infrastructure, and fostering innovation. 

Avinash Joshi, Secretary of MoFPI, welcomed the partnership, noting that it reinforces government efforts to scale India’s food processing sector and support rural development.

With this deal, Godrej Agrovet aims to drive sustainable value across input, processing, and innovation stages, while contributing to regional employment and agritech growth.
