Tracker manufacturer GameChange Solar projects India’s solar tracker market could expand to roughly 35 GW in the near term as utility-scale developers increasingly adopt single-axis trackers to improve energy yields and reduce levelised cost of electricity. 

The company points to rising module capacities, lower tracker costs per MW and a maturing project pipeline as structural drivers for accelerated tracker adoption across ground-mounted projects. 

Greater tracker penetration would boost demand for domestic manufacturing of tracker components and create opportunities for localised assembly, logistics and maintenance service providers. 

This forecast underscores the continuing shift from fixed-tilt to higher-yield tracker configurations across Indian large-scale solar tenders and merchant plants.
