GAIL India Limited has approved a 178 MW wind power project in Maharashtra with an investment of Rs. 1,736 crore.

The project will contribute renewable energy to the company’s portfolio and support decarbonisation efforts.

Officials stated that the wind capacity will be developed in phases and integrated into the grid upon commissioning.

The investment aligns with GAIL’s strategy to diversify into clean energy assets.

The project is expected to be implemented following regulatory approvals and site development.
