Infrastructure  -  Mar 28,2024  -

Hong Kong-based EPIC Designers has acquired 40 acres of land at the IDCO Industrial Estate in Bhubaneswar, Odisha and is looking to build a facility, marking its foray into India. The sustainable fashion company has appointed professional services and investment management firm, Colliers in India, to set up its first manufacturing unit in the country. The turnkey contract is worth Rs 220 crore.

The new unit will be completely net-positive in energy and water and will include several green spaces and zen gardens in landscaping. Focused on sourcing sustainable materials, minimising waste and curbing carbon footprint, this garment factory is slated to be the first-of-its-kind for the apparel industry in India. The company intends to employ over 6,000 people to run the facility.

Managed by EPIC Group’s subsidiary, Trimetro Garments India, the facility will be benchmarked against global standards and cutting-edge facilities. The first phase spanning 3,38,000 sq. ft. is expected to be completed by May 2025, and the future expansion will cover 3,81,236 sq. ft.
